Associate - Energy & Infrastructure Private Equity
Overview
An established, institutionally backed investment platform is seeking an Associate to join its Energy & Infrastructure private equity team in Boston. The team invests across traditional energy, renewables, digital and diversified infrastructure, and energy transition themes. This role offers meaningful responsibility, lean deal teams, and exposure across the full investment lifecycle within a long‑term, patient capital strategy.
Responsibilities
• Support end‑to‑end execution of private equity investments, including direct investments, co‑investments, and select fund commitments
• Conduct in‑depth market research, competitive analysis, and asset‑level diligence
• Build and maintain complex financial models (LBO, operating, cash flow, and scenario analysis)
• Prepare investment committee memoranda and supporting materials; present analysis internally
• Assist with transaction structuring, valuation, and review of legal and commercial terms
• Monitor portfolio companies, track performance, and prepare ongoing reporting
• Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, management teams, advisors, and intermediaries
Required Experience & Qualifications
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking or private credit on an infrastructure/energy specific team
• Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
• Experience supporting live transactions and investment diligence processes
• Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clearly and concisely
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently
• Bachelor's degree required; strong academic credentials expected
